Target Audience

How will we attract our target audience?

In order to attract the younger age groups, as in teenagers, the storyline has to be exciting, interesting and action packed. Furthermore, it needs to be displayed on the correct form of social media so that it is seen by all people of that age. This means that to attract teenagers the best social media site to try and attract our target audience would be twitter because it is the most used social site at the moment.

In order to attract people of an older age than teenagers you would need to have an exciting, interesting and action packed storyline but also have a higher intellectual storyline than those aimed purely at teenagers and because our opening sequence will be aimed at both we will need to have a slightly intellectual storyline that will still make sense to those of a younger age. Also, the best form of media that people of an older age than teenagers is usually newspapers and billboards.

Target audience

Who is the target audience?

The main target audience for our opening sequence will probably be teenagers up to people aged around 35 and it will be aimed at people of both genders. This is because thriller has a very large target audience and the main age range is around 16 - 35 so this is what we will plan to aim our opening sequence towards. It will be mainly aimed at men because they enjoy the high level of anticipation, ultra-heightened expectation, uncertainty, surprise, anxiety and terror than women because it makes them feel more manly when they watch them. But some women enjoy these aspects as well, which is why it will be aimed at both genders.
Thrillers tend to be adrenaline-rushing, gritty, rousing and fast-paced, which is preferred by men more than women because they do not get the same excitement that most men get from watching a fast, adrenaline film.
